The wife of the tech-billionaire, Melinda Gates recently gave an interview in which she opened about how she has been able to keep her marriage a success even after completing 25 years.
She revealed that when you are married to a tech genius, then you need to have patience.
Melinda very openly said that there was a time in her marriage where she used to think if she would be able to keep up or not, but now she feels grateful and fulfilled. Melinda now feels that both of them can share a laugh at much more things now.
The philanthropist these days is busy promoting her new book called the “Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World.”
During the interview, she recalled her moments of the past and the one that she shared was about how she got frustrated and angry with her husband.
The Microsoft Founder was lost as he was reading a book and Melinda kept asking him to help her pack up the car and getting the kids ready, but he didn’t listen as he was more interested in knowing what Winston Churchill had written.
Melinda shared how workaholic people have troubles finding the right work-life balance. According to her, Bill Gates needed training on how to strike a balance between his work and family duties.
She also said Bill himself agreed that indeed he needed her advice on how to keep things manageable.
Both fell in love by passing through many of the love puzzles and once Melinda got the best of Bill in a math game.
She also made clear that her relationship with the business tycoon has nothing to do with his status of being such a prominent entrepreneur.
The two got married back in 1994 and welcomed their first child into this world two years later. After Jennifer, they gave birth to two more kids, Rory who is 19 and then Phoebe who is now 16. The eldest child Jennifer is now 22 years of age.
Melinda can’t describe how incredible their journey has been and she is the lucky one to have received whatever she has got in her life. Both Bill and Melinda have working for public welfare all over the globe.
The charitable foundation of the two has done some tremendous work over the years to help the poor and to support health care.
