The First Lady of the United States is the country’s third most admired woman, according to YouGov’s recent study.

Melania Trump hopped seven places from her position, showing she has become more popular despite her some clothing choices that made negative headlines and her silence on President Donald Trump’s controversial policies.

She was only surpassed by former First Lady Michelle Obama, who claimed the first spot, and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who was ranked second.

While all of them made it onto the list of inspirational and powerful leaders, Melania Trump beat television hosts Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah, international pioneers Queen Elizabeth II and Malala Yousafzai, and politicians Nikki Haley and Hillary Clinton.

Melania Trump has also proven to be more popular among Americans than her first daughter Ivanka Trump, who claimed the eleventh spot.

This year, Obama replaced Angelina Jolie as the most admired woman. Former President Barack Obama, who was the first on the list of most admired men in 2018, is still on top.

But not everyone agrees with the results and many people took to social media to express their opinions.

One internet user commented: “Melania is more intelligent and more accomplished than many of the women on that list.”

Another wrote: “YouGov released a poll saying Michelle Obama is the ‘most admired’ woman in the world. What a joke. The class and elegance Melania Trump has makes her [a hundred times] more admirable!”

A third said: “My most admired woman is the First Lady, Melania Trump. She dresses exceptionally well, is multilingual, and is beautiful.”

Someone else added: “Ilhan and Alexandria Cortez are my 2 favorites. Of course that sounds very un-American. Americans love rich people.”
