First lady Melania Trump is ‘not sad’ to be leaving Washington DC as she has been packing up their things to move out,
CNN reported.
She is almost done with the job of shipping their belongings to Mar-a-Lago and is now winding down their final week at the White House.
“(Mrs. Trump) is not sad to be leaving,” a source told the news outlet.
Moving vehicles and large boxes were seen outside the Eisenhower Executive Office Building as Trump administration staff and the first family prepare to leave the grounds.
However, Mrs. Trump reportedly started the move secretly over fears it would increase the anger of her husband President Donald Trump, who did not concede defeat until last Thursday, after president-elect Joe Biden’s win has been certified.
A source told Daily Mail that staff in the East Wing are ‘preparing transition binders’ as part of the transition effort for the incoming Biden administration.
Mrs. Trump has not been seen in public since they returned from Mar-a-Lago on December 31.
Reports say that she has also been looking at schools in Florida for her son Barron.
In addition, the first lady only found out that she would not be attending Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20 after President Trump tweeted that he would not go.
A source told CNN: “It’s not the first time she has learned what he was doing because he tweeted it before he told her.”
Trump tweeted last week: “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”
