Melania Trump Wrapped Christmas Presents And Donated To Local Families At Salvation Army Center In London


Melania Trump visited the Salvation Army in Clapton on the last day of the NATO summit.

She wrapped Christmas presents donated to local families including soccer balls, caps and frisbees with her ‘Be Best’ logo.

According to the White House pool report on the event, other gifts were donated by embassy staff and American families living in London, including board games and stuffed animals.

The First lady was joined by US Embassy marines at the event, as well as Suzanne Johnson, wife of the U.S. Ambassador to the UK. She donned a black and white checkered coat which she paired with black heels.

She had a conversation with several school children for 20 minutes before they sang Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ for her. The First lady joined a table of school children in making a wreath, adding pine cones to one covered in gold tinsel.

One of the fifth-grade student leaders named Isabelle Bates was surprised to know that Melania had never had a mince pie that is traditionally served during the Christmas season.

”I was surprised at she’s never had a mince pie,’ Isabelle, age 10, said. ‘She said she was going to try one tonight. I thought she was really fun,’ she added. ‘My impression of her was actually really nice. Everyone was expecting her to be very grumpy but she was actually very nice.”

Quiana Mullings, 9 claimed Melania looked sad but was actually ‘very happy.’ 

”I’m gonna be honest and say her make-up was a bit much,’ Quiana said. ‘It made her look sad but actually, she was very happy.”

Isabelle said when kids asked Melania about what she does for Christmas.  ”She said put ornaments on the tree before Christmas,” Isabelle said Melania told them.

Commissioner Anthony Cotterill said: ”The visit was an opportunity to promote our Christmas Present Appeal where we ask people to buy an extra children’s gift this Christmas so we can donate it to a family in need. I am very grateful to Mrs Trump and Mrs Johnson who personally donated gifts to our appeal.”
