George Northwood, from London, got candid about working with Meghan Markle for the past two years.
The 41-year-old British hairdresser is the one who is behind the Duchess’ some iconic looks and he even styled her hair in a messy bun for her wedding with Prince Harry in May 2018.
As the Royal couple has officially stepped down from their roles as senior members, George paid a tribute to the couple sharing few of his favorite Meghan looks.
He wrote: ”I have enjoyed every minute collaborating with this amazing couple who not only champion small businesses but have taught me so much about diversity, equality and the importance of good mental health.”
”Harry, Meghan and Archie, wishing you much love and luck for your next exciting chapter! Can’t wait to see you one day soon – and so happy to now be able to share our special time together.”
He also spoke to The Telegraph and revealed how he and Meghan clicked instantly. ”We had to make sure we ticked all the boxes, but then we wanted to make her look accessible and like a people’s princess that everyone relates to,” he said.
George said he and Harry had a strong partnership saying, ”I became so close to them both… they are so grounded, they’re inspirational and there’s no ego on their part.”
He said the person who will work with the Duchess in the future will be really lucky and called Meghan a ‘very modern princess.
’ George added: ”She has a real sense of style and she wanted to look approachable, even though she was a princess. She was a very modern princess, the sort of princess we can relate to and aspire to, and the hair just fell into that. ”
George also talked about the Duchess’ supportive behavior when he went nervous and how she put ‘mindful vision’ while planning her outfits and jewelry.
”I always remember, wherever we went, she would always try to hero small businesses and local jewelry designers,” he told The Telegraph.
”When we were in Australia she would pull out such thoughtful things when we were getting ready, like earrings by a little New Zealand jewelry designer. The hair just needed to fit in and feel comfortable. ”
