The Duchess of Sussex gave her very first appearance as she stepped out of her $14million palatial hideout.
She decided to pay a visit to the women’s shelter which is located in one of the poorest localities in Canada to help the staff working there boost up their spirit.
On Tuesday morning at around 10 am, Meghan was seen leaving her ocean side mansion on Vancouver Island where she had been holding up for the past 1 week.
About in 20 minutes, she made her way to Victoria Harbour Airport to board a seaplane all happy and relaxed.
This is when she decided to give a surprise. She unannounced went to Downtown Eastside Women’s Center which is situated in Vancouver as she wanted to offer her support to the hard-working staff and also boost up their spirits.
One of the staff members who told me about her visit said that they only got to know that Meghan Markle is visiting after she had already arrived. She met the staff and then had a meeting with the managers.
Meghan had visited the shelter of the center and the drop in where they provide counseling, free meals, medication and anything else that a woman or a child is in need of.
The staff member said that she was concerned and asked what is needed by women that can be provided in terms of helping them ease out their lives.
There are no details about if she is willing to make a long term association with the center or is it just a visit.
The Duchess of Sussex mingled with the managers and the staff of the center and had tea with them too as she asked about the working and needs of the center.
The center prominently helps people with homelessness, mental illness, and addictions, domestic violence.
