Meghan Markle has remained at her home in California as Prince Harry flew to the UK to attend his grandfather’s funeral.
As Daily Mail reported, the Duke of Sussex was not with Meghan by his side as he was spotted at London Heathrow Airport following Prince Philip’s death.
Getting off a British Airways plane on Sunday afternoon, Harry was seen donning chinos and a jacket and walking alone until he was greeted by security and taken away in a black Range Rover.
Meanwhile, Harry’s heavily pregnant wife presumably remained at their multi-million California mansion together with son Archie.
Prince Harry’s solo trip follows shortly after Meghan’s doctor advised the Duchess not to travel abroad at this time despite Prince Philip’s death.
As for Harry, the young prince will have to adhere to the country’s Covid-19 health protocols and complete his quarantine. While quarantine typically lasts 10 days, Harry will be able to leave after five days if he can provide a negative coronavirus test.
Though the Duke of Sussex will be quarantined in the following days, he is still allowed to attend his grandfather’s funeral before the five-day isolation period runs out due to the nature of the issue.
According to the insiders with knowledge of Meghan and Harry, the Duchess wanted to accompany her husband but was warned not to by her doctor due to her condition.
Harry’s first trip to the UK since Meghan’s bombshell allegations in the Oprah interview comes after the death of 99-year-old Prince Philip.
Following the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, Harry and Meghan paid the prince a tribute via their non-profit organization Archewell.
“In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, 1921-2021. Thank you for your service… you will be greatly missed,” they wrote.
