According to a source, Meghan and Harry discussed a variety of projects with the streaming service, whereas the Duchess of Sussex turned down an offer to appear on a show called Princesses And Puppies.

The meeting with the executives of Quibi reportedly took place inside Kensington Palace on January 30, 2019, despite Meghan and Harry insisting they “didn’t have a plan” after walking out on their royal responsibilities and leaving the UK in their recent interview with Oprah.

As the couple claimed in their CBS interview, they signed deals with Spotify and Netflix after they were cut off financially after leaving the Royal Family. However, there was no mention of the couple’s meeting with a US streaming service one year prior to Megxit.

According to the source, one of Quibi’s proposals combined royalty and dogs, whereas the company’s founder Jeffrey Katzenberg allegedly encouraged the duchess to host a show called Princesses And Puppies.

“Meghan seemed to find that idea offensive and though she was gracious in the moment, people in the room were a bit appalled that this was the pitch to her,” the insider said.

“Jeffrey thought that puppies and princesses both sold well so if you put them together you’d have something incredibly commercial.”

Speaking of the talks between the royal couple and the streaming company, which has since gone out of business, the source added:

“I believe Quibi first approached Harry and Meghan, who invited executives to meet them in London.

“There was discussion about a sustainable travel program and another show about Harry’s charity interests in Africa. There was talk about Meghan narrating a nature documentary. Quibi held several discussions with them.”
