Prince Harry, 36, and Meghan’s, 39, baby daughter are due on Thursday, June 10, on what would have been Prince Phillip’s 100th birthday.
According to The Sun, the excited parents are thinking about naming her after the late Duke, the Queen, or Princess Diana.
Royal insiders say that the Sussexes may even name their toddler Pip from the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, aged 99, who died in April this year. They were are also considering Lily after Queen Elizabeth II’s family nickname Lilibet.
“The baby is due on Philip’s birthday and it would be so special if she came then,” a source said. “That, and naming her Pip, would be a lovely way to pay tribute to Philip.”
“Harry has been discussing the due date and possible names with his close pals and they’re talking about it quite openly now it’s getting close,” the source added.
There were also reports that Harry and Meghan are thinking about naming their second-born after Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, Princess of Wales, who died in 1997.
“They’ve been talking about Lily and Pip,” the source said. “They’re not exactly traditional royal names, but these two aren’t exactly a traditional royal couple.”
Meghan is believed to be planning a homebirth in Montecito, California. The new baby will be the couple’s second child after Archie.
There are also reports that Prince Harry and Meghan were demoted on the official Royal Family website, which came after they left their senior roles and moved to the US.
Despite the controversies, the royal website still claims the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be “balancing their time” between the UK and the US.
Under the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the website reads: “They are continuing to honor their duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and their patronages.”
“Frogmore Cottage in the UK remains their family home,” the website reads.
“The Duchess will continue to support a number of charitable causes and organizations which reflect the issues with which she has long been associated including the arts, access to education, support for women, and animal welfare.”
Prince Harry was first seen in the UK at The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral since he and his wife Meghan stepped down from their senior royal positions and moved to California.
