In the new fictional movie about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle tells her husband Prince Harry that she fears she has made the world’s biggest mistake.
The film Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace is based on the story of the Sussexes stepping down from their royal duties. It features actors Sydney Morton and Jordan Dean who will portray the couple.
In the teaser, Prince Harry says he will “do everything in his power to keep his wife and son safe.”
Meghan then questions if she’s made a huge mistake marrying into the royal family.
“I never thought this would be easy,” the actress says “But I wanted to make the Queen proud. Have I made the world’s biggest mistake?”
The dramatic trailer starts with the Duke of Sussex telling his wife: “I see you literally being hounded to death, and I’m powerless to stop it.”
His words were but between photos of the couple as they go on a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
In the trailer, the Duchess of Sussex says: “I am the person who is strong and gets things right.”
The trailer also features a message across the screen that reads: “Not all fairy tales have the perfect ending.”
Lifetime promises that the film will offer viewers a fictionalized account of “what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry and Meghan to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie,” the Deadline reported.
An insider told the publication: “It will detail Meghan’s growing isolation and sadness, their disappointment that ‘The Firm’ was not defending them against the press’s attacks.”
“Harry’s fear that history would repeat itself and he would not be able to protect his wife and son from the same forces that caused his mother’s untimely death,” the source added.
