Meet ‘Britain’s Best Bosses’ Who Treat Staff To Month-Long Trips

If you think your boss who treats you to a few drinks every now and then is the world’s best boss, you’ll change your mind after learning about this duo from Birmingham.

The bosses at Turn Partners – a digital startup studio – have treated their employees to month-long luxury holidays in Mexico, Thailand, and India.

And they also give their staff as many paid leaves as they want.

The employees at the company have spent their working days enjoying spa treatments, and jet-skiing, and other fun activities at exotic locations.

What’s more, they’re also allowed to bring their friends, siblings, and partners with them on the trips.

So it comes with no surprise that the co-founders of the company, James Vardy, 31, and Mike Bandar, 29, have been dubbed ‘Britain’s Best Bosses’.

The duo took all nine of their employees to Goa and Mumbai in India on a month-long five-star holiday in February this year.

James and Mike believe that a happy team can create happy bosses.

“From time-to-time we like to treat our team to a month-long holiday so that we can all escape the cold British weather and not go too long without some sunshine,” Mike said.

“Turn Partners covers the costs and although we generally go away for the month, staff can come and go for as long as they please.

“Everyone at Team Turn has an unlimited holiday allowance, as well as a minimum holiday allowance to make sure they don’t skip ‘me time’, have complete freedom of how and where they work and a huge flexibility on the projects they work on.”

The bosses took their team to Thailand back in February last year for enjoying a 28-day trip in Bangkok, Chang Mai, Phi Phi, and Krabi.

Before that, they flew their staff for another month-long break in Mexico to visit Tulum and Playa del Carmen.

And it works! Luke Lanchaster, a Senior Developer at the company, said the hidden waterfalls which he explored in between conference calls in India was a perfect motivation for him.

“I fixed a problem at work that was eluding me for months whilst sitting on a deckchair, listening to the rolling waves, and generally having a great time on holiday…” he said.

“There are so many jobs nowadays which involve employees sitting in a cubicle all day, clocking in and clocking out whilst having your output judged against KPIs.

“Working for Turn Partners is amazing in that they’ve realized keeping employees happy, motivated and excited pays off dividends.”
