Chaotic scenes depict cars standing closely in long queues that stretch for several hundred meters of McD lovers waiting to grab orders from the takeaway stores on Monday evening in France.
30 out of 1490 McDonald’s outlets in France have opened their gates again after being closed down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Home deliveries and drive-thrus have reopened in some stores in north-central France’s Île-de-France region on Monday.
Due to this, traffic jams were seen in Lieusaint-Moissy, Lieusaint-Moissy, and Moissy-Cramayel all located in the southeast of Paris. Cars were seen following each other for several hundred meters.
The easing of restrictions in France came just when much of Europe is preparing to relax the lockdown measures.
While Ibiza and some islands nearby could be open for summer holidays, the WHO has warned against easing lockdowns. Meanwhile, the parks and bars in Sweden remain open despite an increase in death.
A 24-year-old resident of an area near Seine-et-Marne, Joshua, said that he had to use another route to reach back home due to the queues and crowd.
Joshua also noted that people had posted stories on Snapchat and revealed that he had also gone to the giant to grab a box of nuggets.
The news of McDonald’s being reopened traveled quickly amongst the residents of Moissy as well as surrounding towns.
Another local Sébastien noted that the lines were impressive.
Sébastien recalled that he went shopping at 5 pm and the queues were beginning to look like a snail due to their slow movement and then commented that they must have lasted till 10 pm.
He added that his friends waited for almost 3 hours just to get their McDonald’s. Due to mad ordering, one of the stores had to enforce the maximum order amount.
The staff member said that in their branch, they had to set up a maximum limit for orders, which was 60 euros, because of the influx of customers.
