It will be an extra-special Christmas for parents and kids in the UK because McDonald’s is planning to give away 500,000 children’s books for free this Christmas.

The story will follow reindeer Archie as he and his friends take their Christmas wishes to Santa. The McDonald’s Christmas ad actually features Archie and friends along with little Ellie as she makes friends with them.

All you need to do to get a free copy of “The Christmas Adventures of Archie” is to accomplish the online form on or before January 1, 2020. The Christmas storybook will then be sent by post and you should receive your copy within 30 days.

Although half a million books sound like a lot, they will be doled out on a first-come, first-served basis and parents and kids across the country will be scrambling to get a copy. So it would be a good idea to fill up the online form sooner rather than later.

Because of the limited number of books available, you can get only one copy per household and the one making the request should be at least 18 years of age.

But just in case you’re not able to get your hands on a physical copy, take heart. And audiobook and Kindle version are also available for download for free at the same “Reindeer Ready” website.

The audiobook is in MP3 format and former soccer player Peter Crouch narrates.

The Kindle e-book will, of course, need to be downloaded via Amazon to your Kindle devices, the Kindle app, or on your web browser via the Kindle cloud reader. You will need an Amazon account to be able to do this but creating one is free.

As if that wasn’t enough, 2,000 free Christmas jumpers will also be given away by McDonald’s.

The company is going all out to create a festive atmosphere this Christmas and it’s free so you might as well take advantage of it!
