McDonald’s lovers are going to have a totally new experience as the food giant has announced the launch of Big Mac sauce dipping pots.
The fast-food chain has never failed to amaze its customers, be it introducing a tasty burger or a new sauce. And this time, it is a ‘crazy’ sauce presented in the best way possible.
Going by the name of Big Mac Special Sauce, it will be available in small packs of dipping pots. The new sauce will be launched in Ireland and the UK for a limited time.
A limited number of dipping pots will be on sale on 12 February. It means, just those people who are always quick to grab an opportunity will be able to have a flavor of them.
The special sauce which has a shelf life of a maximum of seven days will be available in packs of 50ml dipping pots.
Since the condiment will be provided for a limited time, you need to be really quick to have it. However, in case you couldn’t succeed in getting one for you, there is an alternative.
A chef named Miguel Barclay, who shared the recipe of homemade Big Mac last year, has been able to create the sauce at home.
Barclay used mustard, mayonnaise, and a small amount of tarragon to prepare the sauce.
Though the taste of Barclay’s sauce couldn’t exactly match the one from the McDonald’s, it’s still better to have a less tasty sauce than having none at all.
McDonald’s website has openly listed all the ingredients of the special sauce as: “Soybean Oil, Sweet Relish (Diced Pickles, Sugar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Distilled Vinegar, Salt, Corn Syrup, Xanthan Gum, Calcium Chloride, Spice Extractives), Water, Egg Yolks, Distilled Vinegar, Spices, Onion Powder, Salt, Propylene Glycol Alginate, Garlic Powder, Vegetable Protein (Hydrolyzed Corn, Soy and Wheat), Sugar, Caramel Color, Turmeric, Extractives of Paprika, Soy Lecithin.
People who want to relish a similar sauce even after the end of its availability time can take notes here.
Speaking of the doppelganger burger, Barclay said it took just a few minutes to make it at home.
“The Big Mac is one of my favorite burgers of all time. I thought I’d give it a go as a bit of fun for my followers,” said the 35-year-old.
“It tastes amazing. The revelation for me was using 100 per cent beef and not messing with it as you get a much better result.
“People often over complicate things, especially chefs. They feel like they need to add loads of ingredients, but I believe in simplicity.”
Commenting on Barclay’s efforts of making a Big Mac at home, a McDonald’s spokesperson told The Sun: “We love that Miguel has had a go at recreating the Big Mac.
“We are definitely claiming some credit for how tasty his looks.”
