Marines know the importance of respecting tradition, especially for one of their comrades.

When most people visualize what a marine looks like, the image in their head most likely isn’t that of a four legged dog running around in a war-zone. But they exist and Rico was among the best, being incredibly brave and helping his allies when they needed him.

After returning home, Rico and his handler Beckley lived together. After a long 12 year stretch, Rico’s old age was finally catching up and Beckley knew that it was time to say his goodbyes to his beloved friend and comrade.

Beckley knew that there was only one way for him to respectfully say farewell to a fellow Marine. He and his father dressed in their blues and gave Rico a burial perfect for a Marine. The community, including friends and family of both Rico and Beckley came to the funeral to pay their respects. Beckley gave his farewell speech, as he fought back tears.
