In the month of February, way before the lockdown was imposed in states of America, a Chicago man who tested positive later for the coronavirus had hugged people at two gatherings.
He hugged members of the grieving family at a funeral and shared meals with them. A few days later, at another family gathering for a birthday party, he had hugged more people.
He again hugged people and shared meals with them. The man has spread the virus over to 15 people till now and sadly, 3 out of 15 have already passed away due to the virus.
The man who had been spreading the disease around had had a little respiratory trouble he failed to notice. This resulted in the mass spread of the virus.
While the virus should have remained locked inside 4 walls of the household, due to the gathering it had spread to the extended family as well.
The patients who have been found infected and are under speculation were between the age of 5 to 86 years. They had met at the funeral and after that had come in contact again for the birthday party.
As per the report, three people have died of the family. All three members of the family who had come in contact with the virus died were above 60 years of age. All of them already had an underlying respiratory disease or a cardiovascular disease.
The health authorities have said that this case could have easily been protected with social distancing.
They explained why social distancing is vital at this point of time. People are dying and we would not wish to add ourselves or our loved ones in the list. Thus, it is exceptionally vital to keep social distance till the epidemic goes away.
