Man Discovers Huge Chunks Of Whale Vomit Worth Millions


A lucky man is set to become a millionaire after discovering what is believed to be the world’s biggest chunk of whale vomit.

Also known as ambergris, whale vomit is a rare and extremely valuable ingredient that is used in some of the most expensive and luxury perfumes in the world.

Thanks to ambrein, odorless alcohol that can be extracted from ambergris, perfumes can retain their scent for a longer time.

Recently, a lucky fisherman from Thailand came across a giant blob of ambergris that could potentially be worth more than $3 million while strolling down the shore in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

After spotting massive chunks that might look like ordinary rocks to an untrained eye, 60-year-old Naris Suwannasang immediately called his family members to help him move the find.

Upon their return home, the fisherman tested the material with a lighter and became convinced it was indeed whale vomit due to its distinctive smell and the fact that the surface instantly melted due to the heat of the fire.

As Mr. Suwannasang revealed, he was already offered over $30,000 per kilogram of the substance whereas he believes to have found some 100 kilograms of the vomit in total.

“The businessman told me that he will come to check the quality of the ambergris later and the price shocked me,” he said.

“I could receive around 960,000 THB (31,730 USD) per kilogram if the ambergris I found is the best grade.”

While waiting for the substance to be properly tested and analyzed, the 60-year-old fisherman vowed to record his discovery with the police in fear that thieves would attempt to steal the blobs from his home.

“I want to know more about this ambergris and want the specialist to inspect them. I also plan to go to the police and have them record my discovery as I feared that they might be stolen from my house,” he added.
