Man Who Was Abandoned In Airport Toilet 33 Years Ago Finally Tracked Down His Parents

Steve Hydes was abandoned as a baby 33 years ago in the airport toilet by his birth parents whom he recently tracked down.

Apparently, before finding his parents, he was known as Gary Gatwick. He found out about his birth parents after getting a DNA test done, and he found out that his mother has passed away.

When the 33-year-old got into contact with his father and siblings, they told him that they didn’t even know he existed.

The man was so happy that he posted on Facebook saying that the Genetic Genealogists CeCe Moore and Helen Riding helped him trace and confirm his birth family after 15 years of search.

He further stated that he couldn’t figure out the reason why he was abandoned because his mother has passed away and his birth father and siblings had no idea about his existence.

Beryl Wright who is a duty-free sales assistant found him at the south Terminal when he was just ten days old.

The baby was wrapped in a tartan shawl and was lying there unattended by anyone. Beryl found him on April, and since then he has appeared in the newspapers in an attempt to trace his parents.

Steve said that it is a very sensitive issue for him, but he still took his time and now wants to thank everyone who supported him throughout all these years. He is also very grateful to the genealogists who worked so hard to find out about his birth parents.

Steve has two kids, and he always wanted to know more about his history from his birth parents so that he could pass it on to his kids, but unfortunately, he couldn’t meet his mother.

All these years Steve grew up with the family who adopted him, and he grew up with three sisters there. He also claims that he has no anger and hard feelings towards his birth parents.

While searching for his birth parents, he got to know that police destroyed all his files and also the calls which were made by a young woman who used to claim to be his mother.

The woman always used to give details of a woman, Michael who would take of the child. Though after a long search, Steve is finally happy to know about his family.
