Stores and supermarkets are now requiring shoppers and customers to wear face masks but one man made a mockery of the guidelines by walking around wearing nothing but an improvised thong.
The naked man paraded along Oxford street wearing only a G-string made out of a face mask.
This comes after arguments occurred in supermarkets across England as workers and shoppers confronted others for not following the new rules.
Authorities urged retailers to enforce the new guidelines forcing people to wear face masks in banks, shops, post offices, and stations.
However, there was confusion among businesses having different rules on coverings.
Co-Op, Costa Coffee, and Sainsbury’s are among the companies saying they wouldn’t enforce the rules, which require customers to cover their faces in petrol stations, shopping centers, and transport hubs.
McDonald’s is now enforcing the new laws, with diners in a branch in Essex ordered to leave for not wearing masks.
The chairman of the Police Federation of England and Wales, John Apter, said: “I would urge retail outlets to play their part in making the rules crystal clear – if you are not wearing a face covering then you are not coming in. Officers will be there to help stores if needed – but only as a last resort, as we simply do not have the resources.”
He added: “If you’re out shopping today and you see somebody not wearing a face covering it may be because they have a hidden disability. Don’t jump to conclusions, don’t have a go at them. This is new for us all, it’s about keeping each other safe. Please be nice!”
