He said: “I make my ideas at home, and if I knew what to do with them after I’ve made them, I’d be a very rich man. I may have had some bad luck, but one day I’ll make my fortune.”

Bill first invented a rake designed for spreading sand in the bunker for someone who struggles to bend down.

After the rakes, he bought a business that created boxes for external gas and electricity meters.

He said: “I put in £40,000 with no paperwork, and then three months later they told me they were going bust. I bought the machine they used to make them from the company for another 10,000 and figured I’d try to get it going again.”

“I ended up spending another 25,000 trying to do that – but it didn’t work out.”

Bill’s latest invention is a new safety holder for bonfire sparklers. He believes his latest invention is the best so far.

He said about his latest invention: “I don’t want to reveal too much, as I’m sure it’s my best invention yet and I don’t want the idea to get nicked. Kiddies can get burnt with sparklers and I’ve seen them flinching.”

“This will take away all that worry of being burnt because their hands are underneath.”

Though Bill’s inventions failed and he has already spent £100k so far, still he is hopeful that one day he will become an inventor and his inventions will be used by everyone.
