The incident occurred in Australia where the man who stocked up on necessities has been profiting from the pandemic by reselling purchased goods for a lot more than their retail value.

“Inbox me for toilet paper, Hand sanitiser, nappies, baby formula and antiseptic wipes. Lots of stock. Happy to express post, no pickups,” the hoarder wrote in his post.

After it was revealed that he’s selling single rolls of toilet paper for $5 each, and 24-roll packs for $100 each, Facebook users were quick to slam the man and brand him selfish.

“Should be ashamed of yourself. Clearly, you’re not. Hopefully you’ll realize that what you’re doing is a disgrace knowing the elderly, the disabled and mums and children,” one person wrote.

“No wonder the rest of us can’t buy any. You’re a selfish a******,” someone said.

Sadly, the man in question isn’t the only one resorting to a profiteering scheme during the global pandemic.

Previously, a Canadian couple has bragged about making over $70,000 by bulk buying hand sanitizers and reselling them for four times their original price amid the coronavirus pandemic.

As Vancouver-based 38-year-old Manny Ranga and 37-year-old Violeta Perez explained, they purchased large amounts of disinfectant wipes before opening an account on Amazon and reselling them for a huge profit.

While one pack of hand sanitizers in question costs just $14.50 in retail, the couple had been selling them online for $64.50 per pack amid coronavirus outbreak.

“It’s a big opportunity with all these products. I’ve got to pay the bills. With a regular job, I won’t be making this money… I know it won’t last forever,” Ranga told Toronto Star as he attempted to justify his actions.

As the pair added, they traveled around the city with a truck and stopped at numerous Costco stores in order to get their hands on thousands of wipes.

“It’s just a business I’m doing right now,” Ranga told CTV. “The government’s not helping us pay our bills. Kids can’t go to school; my kids go to private school. I pay $20,000 a year on private school and they’re not returning it.”
