A man who stole the corpses of more than 20 girls and lived with their bodies refuses to apologize to their heartbroken parents.
53-year-old Anatoly Moskvin robbed the graves of 29 girls and turned them into dolls, giving them boots, clothes, and stockings.
Moskvin even applied makeup and lipstick to the children’s bodies and marked their birthdays in his room.
His shocked parents, who also lived in the same apartment, said they were not aware of his hideous acts.
Mosvkin has refused to apologize to the parents of the victims when he attended a custody hearing.
“These girls are girls,” he said. “There are no parents in my view. I don’t know any of them. Besides, they buried their daughters, and this is where I believe their rights over them finished…
“So no, I would not apologize.”
During Soviet times, Moskvin worked as a translator for military intelligence in the Red Army and wrote several history books.
He even wanted to become an English teacher after an initiative by Vladimir Putin to improve foreign languages.
But last week, a judge renewed Moskvin’s detention in a psychiatric hospital for six more months.
In 2011, Moskvin confessed to 44 counts of abusing corpses of girls aged 3 to 12.
He told his victim’s parents at that time: “You abandoned your girls in the cold – and I brought them home and warmed them up.”
One mother who did not realize her daughter’s coffin was empty said: “I would be happy to know he will spend his life in the hospital. He is a sick person.
“From one side, it’s not good to be happy about this.”
