A man got arrested by the police after bringing the traffic to a stop as he took to a highway to ride his horse in support of the ‘Kids Lives Matter’ movement.
Adam Hollingsworth, also known as the ‘Dreadhead Cowboy’, is a Chicago based activist who slowed down the traffic on the Dan Ryan Expressway to bring attention to his campaign.
“All imma say until we focus on Kids lives matter this gone keep happening,” the man announced on Facebook before going for a highway ride with his horse.
In a live video taken by the modern-day cowboy, Mr. Hollingsworth is seen yelling “kids lives matter” as vehicles congest behind him.
After the unusual stunt, the Dreadhead Cowboy was arrested by Illinois State Police and taken into custody.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Police Department also took into custody the activist’s horse. In another video shared on social media, the horse was seen getting loaded onto a trailer belonging to the police department.
According to CNN, the authorities have confirmed that the animal was set to be handed over to Animal Care and Control.
Following his highway horseback ride, the cowboy has been charged with criminal trespass, reckless conduct, and disobeying a police officer. Additional charges may be introduced.
As the authorities confirmed, they have also arrested 55-year-old Darron Luster who allegedly tried to gain control of the horse following the activist’s arrest.
Mr. Hollingsworth is a well-known Chicago activist who previously went vocal to encourage people to fill out the census in order for the local communities to receive more funding.
