A man has gone viral for offering ‘rent a daddy’ services to single moms who could use some help with raising their kids.
Jake Orr is a young man from New South Wales, Australia, who decided to go from being a trucker to becoming a daddy for rent.
In the advertisement for his services, the man wrote:
“Has your baby daddy been acting up? Tired of him playing games? Does he put drugs and his mates before his kids? Get yourself a rent a daddy!!”
Sharing the ad on his social media accounts, Mr. Orr explained that he was “trying out a new career move to get away from trucks.”
As the man explained in his advertisement, he charges $30 per hour plus a surcharge of 20% for Sundays after four in the afternoon.
According to the post, rental includes not only three activities of kids’ choice and up to two weekends per month but also three hours of teaching life skills such as car maintenance and mowing the lawn to children.
The daddy for rent would allegedly also participate in dropping off and picking up kids from school and would attend sporting events.
On the downside, however, family selfies, birthday parties, family events, and Facebook relationship status cost extra.
Following the guy’s cheeky offer, his post quickly went viral and racked up nearly two thousand comments on Facebook alone.
While some people praised Orr for making a shift in his career and called his concept ‘awesome’, not everyone was convinced by the idea.
Some internet users have expressed their concern over the man’s credentials whereas others pointed out it was a bad sign that he was holding what appears to be a can of beer in the photo he used for the promotion of his services.
