A teen has been arrested after he shot one man and injured two others.
The US Marshals in Forth Worth have arrested Damarion Degrate, 17, after he lured three men through Grindr. One man tragically died while the two others were left injured.
23-year-old Jonathan Breeding was found in his vehicle at around 2 am. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to Fox West Texas, the first shooting occurred at 12:30am. The victim said he drove to a corner gas station to call the police for help.
Police responded to Grim Avenue and North 36th Street and found a man who had been shot at a different location.
Investigators learned that all victims had met Degrate through the online dating app.
The Waco Police Department said in a press release: “It was through this app that Degrate communicated with the victims and made plans to meet up with them. After meeting up with the victims, Degrate shot all 3 of them.”
The teen was previously arrested on an attempted murder charge and posted $200,000 bail, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported.
“Investigators were not able to definitively connect Degrate to the murder until now,” police said.
The third incident is still being investigated.
One person commented: “How in the Lord’s name do you even offer bail to someone who clearly committed a murder? Bail should be off the table, not an option. Clearly he’s a threat to society, but instead you allow him to get out on bail so he can roam the streets after what he’s done. The system needs to change, this is obsurd.”
Another wrote: “Unfortunately, I do not think he was able to be a “boy” that long.”
