A man was caught on camera as he participated in a disturbing coronavirus challenge by licking the doorbell of a random homeowner.
The incident occurred in Batesville, Arkansas, where homeowner Matthew Wehmeier caught on camera a man licking his doorbell amid lockdown on March 23.
“After reviewing last night’s events on our doorbell, my wife came across this nonsense. Our doorbell got licked,” the upset man wrote online where he shared the security footage.
“If that wasn’t bad enough anytime, we’re going through a pandemic right now; people are trying to be mindful about not spreading a virus. It’s gross nonsense like this that makes me lose faith in humanity.”
As Mr. Wehmeier added, everyone should clean their doorbells because you never know who might have touched them with a sinister purpose.
In the video shared by the angry homeowner, the culprit is seen licking the doorbell before stepping back and dancing with his accomplice.
After a few days, the man who licked the doorbell apparently had a change of heart as he returned to Wehmeier’s home to apologize.
“What I did the other night was absolutely uncalled for and I understand that and I apologize,” he was heard saying in another video taken by Wehmeier.
“I was kinda showing out and putting on a show for the camera. And that’s not okay, I apologize for that.”
This time, however, Wehmeier was there to respond to the man and accept his apology. “I appreciate that. That’s stand up of you,” he said.
