Convicted murderer Corey Johnson received the lethal injection at the US Department of Justice’s execution chamber in Indiana.

The 52-year-old was convicted of killing seven people in 1992 as part of a drug-trafficking ring.

Johnson’s lawyers argued he had an intellectual disability and it was unconstitutional to sentence him to death.

When asked if he had any last words, Johnson looked at the room to his left designated for his family members.

“No, I’m okay,” he replied before saying a few seconds later, “Love you.”

In the last statement given by his lawyer, Johnson apologized for his crimes and said he had a ‘wonderful’ meal of strawberry milkshake and pizza. He also complained that he did not receive the jelly-filled donuts he requested.

“I want to say that I am sorry for my crimes,” Johnson said in the statement. “I would have said I was sorry before, but I didn’t know how.”

He also listed the names of his victims and said he wanted them to be remembered: Bobby Long, Linwood Chiles, Dorothy Armstrong, Louis Johnson, Peyton Johnson, Anthony Carter, and Curtis Throne.

“On the streets, I was looking for shortcuts, I had some good role models, I was side tracking, I was blind and stupid,” Johnson said. “I am not the same man that I was.”

Johnson also thanked his family, his legal team, the chaplain, his minister, and the staff on federal death row.

The only complaint he had was about the donuts he did not get. “The pizza and strawberry shake were wonderful, but I didn’t get the jelly-filled donuts that (I) ordered. What’s with that? This should be fixed,” he expressed.
