Doctors removed 30 pounds of fecal matter from his bowels.

According to reports, the patient had Hirschsprung’s disease, which results in swollen bowels as the nerves that are supposed to control it are not functioning or missing.

Surgeons said that the man looked like he was 9 months pregnant due to the enlargement and accumulation of feces.

Doctors also believe he had been constipated for a very long time that he looked ‘like he was about to explode.’

The 22-year-old said that he had always suffered from constipation but laxatives only gave him a short relief.

He decided to go to a hospital to treat the problem and tests revealed that he had years worth of poop inside his colon.

Dr. Yin Lu said that three-hour surgery involved removing the swollen body part. After the removal of his gut, doctors stitched it up at both ends to stop poop from dripping out.

Hirschsprung’s disease is uncommonly diagnosed in adults. It affects 1 in every 5,000 babies and is more common for males.

The condition is associated with certain inherited conditions and other abnormalities present at birth, according to Mayo Clinic.

Some people who have an extreme form of constipation undergo stoma surgery – where a small hole on the abdomen is created to change the flow of fecal matter into a pouch.

For babies, signs include not passing poop within 48 hours after being born. Other symptoms are swollen stomach, diarrhea, gassy, and throwing up green fluids.
