Watch a tourist trap himself on a tiny country road as he pulls off the epic Austin Powers maneuver!
A BMW driver has gone viral after pulling off the ‘Austin Powers maneuver’ and getting himself stuck on a tiny country road while attempting to turn his car around.
The epic moment was caught on camera by another driver who crossed paths with the tourist on a narrow country lane in Cornwall, UK.
As if getting wedged between the vegetation while his girlfriend was watching wasn’t enough, several other vehicles got caught in the traffic the man caused with his BMW.
Fortunately for us, 27-year-old Matt Morris pulled out his cell phone in time to record the Austin Powers fan.
“I met this BMW in the narrows,” he explained.
“He pulled in, I could get past but just as I was about to go past he pulled forward nearly hitting the front of the lorry.
“He then performed this unusual maneuver in front of the lorry, and drove off in the other direction.”
Posting the funny footage on the internet, Matt linked the man to the Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery scene in which the agent got himself wedged between two walls while trying to get around Dr. Evil’s HQ.
“When on holiday in st buryan, if u can’t pull in to let a lorry pass, use this quick and easy manoeuvre, #Austinpowers,” Matt wrote in his initial post.
Soon enough, the post went viral and reached hundreds of thousands of views with plenty of people commenting on the tourist’s driving skills.
“Wtf.. how do people get themselves in that situation?” one person questioned.
“Ah, you can’t beat a 97 point turn opportunity as an alternative to finding the reverse gear. Maybe, like the indicators, it was an optional extra declined,” another one wrote.
Defending the young BMW driver, one commenter said: “Well in their defense, at least they didn’t expect the wagon to perform that maneuver as some car drivers actually look at you like you should.”
