Anonymous Man Offered To Pay For Free Fish And Chips Deliveries To 171 Villagers Every Week For The Next Three Months Amid Lockdown


An anonymous man has decided to pay for free fish and chips deliveries to 171 villagers every Friday for the next three months amid coronavirus crisis.

The mystery man will be paying for free fish and chips deliveries to 171 villagers in Denchworth, Oxfordshire that normally costs £5 per head.

The good Samaritan will be paying Stephen Davidson – the owner of a local pub The Fox in Hyde Road – and Stephen will be making meals for 171 villagers amid coronavirus lockdown.

The man has decided to help both Stephen and the villagers through his selfless act.

Stephen had to shut down his 17th-century pub amid coronavirus lockdown but the kind mystery man has now offered to pay Stephen to cook meals for the villagers in Denchworth, Oxfordshire.

The man has been hailed as a Hero by locals and by Stephen who was forced to shut down his pub.

Stephen said: “He is really concerned about people in the village, so he wants to help in any way he can.”

“The pub is an important part of the village – we opened it back in 2000 – and it is the local boozer for this man. It will be a good thing for the locals, especially for the elderly who are stuck indoors.”

Stephen told they are still discussing the menu but a plate of fish and chips is confirmed.

He said he has a lot of groceries left as he was forced to shut down his pub amid lockdown so he will be using that to make the free meals.

Stephen also told that he won’t be making much by cooking meals for the villagers but he still wants to do it for his community.

He said: “It is part of my life. We are all in the same boat with this virus, so this is easing my mind.”
