William ‘Hank’ Beasley and his girlfriend used their vehicle to block 28-year-old Michael Barajas from entering the apartment complex.

Barajas, a UC-Berkeley graduate, said he was pulling into the garage after coming home from a store when a white SUV suddenly drove ahead and blocked his car.

“Today I was not let into my complex by a white couple from Florida that said they would not let a criminal into their complex as they needed to protect it,” Barajas shared on Instagram.

“They thought I was trying to tailgate them to break in and rob them/other cars in the garage. They were driving in full speed, stopped poked their head out and saw a brown boy in a hat and put their car on break.”

In an interview with ABC 7, Barajas said that he was wearing a black outfit and his tattoos were visible. He believes that Beasley thinks he was a threat because of his appearance. “His immediate reaction was “hey you f**king criminal, you’re not coming in here”.”

The video taken by Barajas shows the white car blocking the garage’s entrance as Beasley attempts to call security.

“Call security. I live here!” Barajas expressed.

Barajas tells them that he lives in the complex but the couple doesn’t want to believe him and continues to block the entrance of the complex garage.

The situation then escalates when another resident intervenes on Barajas’ behalf. The witness, Barajas’ neighbor, tells Beasley: “Dude, pull into your space and go!”

Beasley then threatens to call the police and says: “If you have a key card you can get in yourself, but I’m not letting you in. I called the cops. You got about five minutes to get out of here.”

“That’s fine,” Barajas responds. “Call the cops. What are you calling the cops about, Karen?”

A loud bang can be heard after the witness smacked the white car, prompting Beasley to jump out of the SUV.

“You don’t touch my car bro! I’m protecting my f**king place!” Beasley shouts. “You don’t have a right to be here!”

Barajas told ABC 7: “He actually threatened to shoot us if we continued to engage in conversation!”

The apartment complex, SOMA Residences, said in a statement that they are ‘actively working to resolve’ the issue and do not condone ‘violent acts, aggression toward any residents, discrimination and harassment.’

APEX Systems also fired Beasley and said that they will not ‘tolerate violent or racist behavior.’
