An Alabama man has allegedly fed meth to an illegally kept squirrel to make it a hyper-aggressive ‘attack squirrel.’

Mickey Paulk, from Limestone County, was reported to the cops for giving drugs to the caged animal to make it act wildly.

After being alerted of the disgusting act, the police served a search warrant at the suspect’s home on Monday.

“Prior to the search warrant, investigators were informed that Mickey Paulk kept an ‘attack squirrel’ inside his apartment, and that Paulk fed the squirrel meth to keep it aggressive,” Stephen Young, a spokesman for the sheriff, told AL.com.

In addition to the innocent animal, the cops discovered meth, body armor, and drug paraphernalia from his house.

Paulk, 35, was out of his home at the time, however, the cops arrested another man Ronnie Reynolds who was present there.

Reynolds was taken into custody on the charges of loitering at a known drug house, possessing drug paraphernalia, and possessing a controlled substance.

The 37-year-old was released on a $4,000 bail after being taken to Limestone County jail.

According to AL.com, Paulk’s arrest warrant has been issued on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

After retrieving the squirrel, the cops called animal control services, who asked the Alabama Department of Conservation to take care of the animal.

The department informed that keeping a squirrel as a pet is an illegal act, and thus the animal should be released into the wild at the earliest.

The cops couldn’t confirm if the squirrel was fed with drugs because there was ‘no safe way to test the squirrel for meth,’ according to a spokesman for Sheriff Mike Blakey.

So, the abused animal was freed at last into its natural habitat.

Unfortunately, it is not the first incident to make innocent animals a part of the criminal life. Just a few months back, cops in Brazil rescued a ‘lookout parrot’ that was being used to alert the criminals against potential police raids.

The trained bird screamed ‘mama, police!’ when the cops raided the suspected house on a drug bust.

“He must have been trained for that. He began to scream as soon as the police approached,” Major Mello of the Military Police 17th Battalion told Ultimo Segundo.
