A father just splashed out $16,000 on a collection of dolls which he treats as his own daughters and even holds birthday parties for them.

Yu Zhenguo said he treats the lifeless dolls like children, taking them on shopping trips to purchase new clothes, and even taking photos of them to share online.

‘It’s just like anyone else’s hobby. Some people love computer games, I love my silicone daughters,’ he said.

The 60-year-old is not a perverted man and warns anyone wanting to do the dirty deed with the dolls that they are his children.

Speaking to The Paper, Yu said a man once walked toward him in the street and inappropriately touched one of the dolls. His son, a real boy, scolded him and told him to stop being ‘impolite’ to his sister.

His son has even got in on the act and said he would be very upset without his sisters as they are irreplaceable.

Even though the bizarre hobby may seem a bit seedy to most people, the father said he goes on and doesn’t let other people’s opinions affect him.

The divorced father said each doll costs around $1,200 dollars. He has spent around $12,000 more on accessories and clothing to dress up his 11 daughters.

‘I am not a pervert, but when I saw my first silicone doll on sale in Beijing, she was so pretty… and so perfect that I had to have her, even though she cost 8,000 yuan ($1,212).’

He named his first doll Xiao Xue and they celebrate her birthday every year with a huge party. He also takes his daughters on day trips and poses them up in innocent scenes so he could take photos of special moments.
