Man Arrested After Destroying The Ten Commandments Monument With His Truck


A man got arrested by the police after tearing down a monument depicting Ten Commandments and dragging it along the lawn to the street before making a getaway.

30-year-old Anthony Weimer from Columbia Falls, Montana, had wrapped a chain around the religious monument placed outside the Flathead County courthouse before using his pickup truck to remove the stone from the ground and drag it onto a nearby street according to NBC Montana.

After dragging the monument to the street, the suspect allegedly removed the chain and fled the scene, leaving the Ten Commandments lying on the pavement.

According to the police, who were able to arrest Weimer after tracking down his truck, the suspect’s motive remains unknown.

Following the incident, Weimer has been taken into custody and charged with felony criminal mischief.

The incident follows as dozens of statues around the country have been targeted by protesters whereas many have already been removed or vandalized.

To safeguard parts of history, an executive order has last week been signed to protect federal monuments, memorials, and statues.

It is not clear whether Weimer’s removal of the Ten Commandments monument had anything to do with the current civil unrest.
