A man from Tennessee will likely spend life behind bars after he was convicted of killing and dismembering his parents.

32-year-old Joel Guy Jr. sat silently and showed no emotion when a jury found him guilty of three counts of felony murder, two counts of premeditated first-degree murder, and two counts of abuse of a body.

Guy Jr. reportedly stabbed his parents, Lisa Guy, 55, and Joel Guy Sr., 61, multiple times before boiling his mother’s head in a pot and dissolving other remains in strong chemicals.

Knox County Criminal Court Judge Steve Sword imposed a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 51 years.

The court also heard victim impact statements from Lisa and Joel’s loved ones.

Guy Jr’s sister, Chandise Fink, said of their parents: “They were larger than life. They loved him. They loved him so much. They loved us all.”

She also thanked court officers, jurors and law enforcement officials for their efforts.

“I am very sorry that this evil had to come into their life, too,” she added.

The couple’s other daughter, Michelle Tyler, said that the killings has impacted her kids, “and for that I will never be able to forgive,” she expressed, WBIR reported.

Guy Sr. was stabbed more than 42 times and Lisa at least 31 times. The father had his legs and right foot cut off, and arms severed at the shoulder. The mother’s ribs, arms, and shoulder were severed and her legs were cut off.

The parts were then soaked in corrosive chemicals.

A notebook found in a bedroom revealed plans on how to kill the couple. One of the pages shows ‘assets’ belonging to the mother including a $500,000 life insurance policy that lists Guy Jr. as a beneficiary.
