Man Found A Hidden Bag Inside The $150 Desk He Bought Online

Buying and selling things on Craigslist is always a gamble.

But when Noah Muroff bought an average Staples desk for $150, he had no idea he was gambling with the life of a Connecticut woman.

Muroff and his wife were having difficulties fitting the desk into their home and decided to take it apart to fit it into their room.

When removing the filing cabinets, he noticed a plastic bag poking out with a crisp $100 bill. Confused, he opened the bag and realized there were, in fact, STACKS of hundreds.

“If we didn’t take those drawers out, we never would have found it,” Muroff said. He and his wife sat on the floor & counted $98,000.

While that kind of money could make the world of a difference for anyone, he knew that he couldn’t keep the money. He immediately called the woman he bought the desk from and came to find out that all of that money was her inheritance.

“She was so shocked and touched that anyone would call,” he said. “She said, ‘You could have kept the money and nobody would have ever known.’”
Being a Rabbi, both Muroff and his wife believe honesty is more important than greed.

“We both agreed that this is not our money,” he said. “If God wants us to have $98,000, he’ll make sure to give it to us in some other way.”

The woman could not believe her luck that these two people, who she barely knew, would make such an impact on her life.

“I do not think there are too many people in this world that would have done what you did by calling me. I do like to believe that there are still good people left in this crazy world we live in. You certainly are one of them,” the woman wrote. “I cannot thank you enough for your honesty and integrity.”

Would YOU return the money if you were in Noah’s situation?
