49-year-old Alex Cesar Bonilla was arrested after he broke into the home of his wife’s lover, cutting off his penis using scissors.
The Florida man then fled the scene with a severed appendage, according to WBBH.
Cops responded to the home after the victim called for help.
32-year-old Tomas Martinez-Gomez told officers that Bonilla, his neighbor, had broken into his home and threatened to kill him.
He said that Bonilla tied him up in his bedroom before mutilating him. Two children were inside the house when the incident occurred, according to reports.
The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office said that the ‘motive for this crime is still under investigation.’ However, the report said that the assailant ‘was found to have caught the victim and [Bonilla’s] wife during sexual intercourse’ weeks before the attack happened.
Deputies arrested Bonilla at the Alliance Dairies in Brandford where he works. He was charged with one count each of aggravated assault, false imprisonment, aggravated battery, burglary, and use of a firearm, and two counts of cruelty towards a child.
Bonilla is being held in Gilchrist County jail on $1.25 million bond. Deputies said that Gomez remains in a local hospital and is still recovering from injuries.
Authorities did not give details as to what happened to the victim’s penis.

Another wrote: “Poor guy. We don’t even know if he knew she was married. Or, she could have given him the song and dance about the marriage being irreparable, etc. People just need to leave.”
