A police officer was bitten by the man he was called to arrest after the culprit attacked an emergency worker amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The incident occurred in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, where two police officers arrived at the scene after 29-year-old Christopher Hill allegedly beat up an emergency worker.
After the officers attempted to arrest the man, he reportedly punched them before biting one of the cops in his arm.
Following the arrest, the man was charged with criminal damage and two counts of assault.
Confirming the incident was the Greater Manchester Police who also shared a picture of the injury inflicted upon the officer who got bitten by the 29-year-old.
Meanwhile, the Greater Manchester Police has been working restlessly to bring unnecessary spreading of the novel coronavirus to an end by taking stricter measures to ensure lockdown orders are followed.
According to the officials, over 1,000 breaches, including hundreds of parties, have been committed in the county in a span of two weeks.
“It is vital that we follow the Government guidelines. We must do this to protect ourselves, our families, our communities and the NHS by preventing the spread of this highly contagious infection,” Chief Constable Ian Hopkins expressed.
“I would encourage everyone to enjoy themselves at home with their loved ones but please don’t socialize beyond the immediate people that you live with. Please don’t participate in other social gatherings inside or outside, no matter how big or small.”
