The Tucson Police Department shared a video that shows the moment a man hit a 77-year-old woman with a metal pipe over the head and stole her pizza as she made her way out of the restaurant in Arizona.
Officers request the public’s help in searching for the man.
The cops posted the 20-second video along with the caption: “Tucson we need to catch this guy!”
The footage starts with the elderly woman about to exit Peter Piper Pizza restaurant, which is located at South 12th Avenue and West Ajo Way.
However, a man who appears to be opening the door for the customer suddenly attacks her with a pipe and steals her pizza.
A spokesperson for the restaurant said that the elderly woman was doing ‘ok.’
The restaurant chain’s other locations have since enhanced security and added staff after the incident.
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned man with a height around 5 feet inches, and has a wrinkly face, Officer Ray Smith wrote on Twitter. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department.
One internet user commented: “Sentence him to the same – x amount of prison time, every day give him his food and have the other inmates crack him over the head and take it. How anyone can be so low is beyond me. smh…..”
Another wrote: “I can’t even comprehend how big of a POS you have to be to whack old ladies & steal their food.”
A third added: “What a cowardly pos. Striking anyone let alone an elderly lady. For all that is decent, if you are hungry ask for help. This beast needs to be put down.”
