California Man Arrested Three Times In Just 12 Hours, Released Each Time Due To ‘Zero-Bail’ Policy

A man was arrested three times in just a day and allowed to go home without bail every time due to the state’s ‘Zero-Bail Policy’ implemented in response to the coronavirus outbreak, according to officials.

The first case occurred around 8:28 am when police responded to a call of a man who was trying to break into a car. Officers arrived and contacted Landrum, who was driving away in the stolen vehicle. Police also said that he had stolen narcotics and property with him.

But only one hour after the 24-year-old was released, officers received another call around 2:20 pm of a man carrying a box while walking through others’ properties.

Landrum was arrested for the third time for evading officers and being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

“Due to the California Zero-Bail Policy, Landrum was released with his third citation of the day,” police said.

The ‘Zero-Bail’ policy reduced prison populations to prevent the spread of coronavirus. However, it is a challenge for officers as alleged criminals are allowed to go back into the public, Fox11 reported.
