A Florida man was arrested and jailed for physically and mentally abusing and torturing his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter.
According to the reports, 37-year-old Andrew Ross Celaius would burn the young girl with a blowtorch, shoot at her with a pellet gun, throw full milk bottles at her, and scare her by wearing a werewolf mask.
The wicked man from Pensacola, Florida, was arrested on April 9 shortly before he was found hanging in his jail cell. Celaius survived the suicide attempt and was taken to a hospital for treatment before getting placed in protective custody.
The 37-year-old has been charged with four counts of child abuse, six counts of aggravated child abuse, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
In one disturbing CCTV footage, the investigators have seen the man putting a shock collar on the 2-year-old in order to wake her at his will at night. Once the girl woke up due to pain, Celaius scared her using a werewolf mask.
“You can see the dog collar being activated and then the shrieking and the pain the child has suffered from the result of this,” Chief Deputy Chip Simmons said.
“It goes far beyond just a child being abused. Some of this evidence may have been shared in the cloud and shared with other people,” Sheriff David Morgan elaborated.
“We had a number of instances where this individual, the suspect, would use an airsoft gun to just shoot a sleeping child, for no other reason but to wake the child up and hurt the child.”
In other wicked attempts to hurt the child, Celaius would burn her with a blowtorch or throw full milk bottles at her during her sleep.
“I’ve been in law enforcement for over 30 years and when I looked at the evidence that I saw here, me and members of my staff were speechless. We are comforted to some degree that this precious child will not be harmed tonight,” Morgan added.
According to the investigators, the mother didn’t know about the abuse until she took her daughter to ER for ‘ringworm’ treatment only for doctors to discover the girl had burn marks.
Besides Celaius, the police also arrested 36-year-old Eric Furnans whom they suspect of being the 37-year-old’s accomplice. Furnans allegedly destroyed all evidence while Celaius was getting apprehended.
