Sometimes you just don’t want to do yard work and it’s just a pain.
We all enjoy getting outside to mow the lawn, but sometimes you just want to sit outside with a beer and watch the day go by instead.
Ordinary yard work can often be a bit overwhelming when all you want to do is relax, but having to deal with the seasonal work can be a real struggle. Weed pulling and raking leaves are those kinds of jobs that just cut right into our relaxation time and we just push them off until the last minute.
In April of 2015, Mimi noticed a tree was getting old and looked like it would fall on their home during a windy night. Mimi and her husband cut down the tree in the yard, but left the stump for another day. Mimi, annoyed that the ugly stump was ruining her beautiful front yard decided that she couldn’t wait any longer for her husband to remove it. She got creative and turned that ugly stump into a part of her beautiful yard.
One day, the idea just came to her. She was going to turn the strump into something lovely, a “Gnome Tree Stump House” with all of the decorations. She set out for her dollar store and a hardware store to get all the parts to turn this ugly tree stump into a beautiful decoration.
Mimi, along with her husband who was able to use his woodworking skills once again began construction. Mimi carefully designed and created an adorable little house perfect for any garden gnome to live in luxury. However Mimi’s creative ideas weren’t over, she also thought to record the whole process and share the entire video online with millions on Youtube.
Since the video over 2.5 million people have watched Mimi and her husband lovingly craft this gnome home. According to the video description:
The “Tree Stump House” was “a project hubby and I have started a couple months ago. I put the finishing touches on it this weekend. I thought you would like to see what we created.”
While some may have been content with just removing the stump, Mimi decided to go the extra mile and create something truly unique for her yard. So she started dreaming up what a perfect garden gnome house would look like.
As you can imagine, crafters, woodworkers and homemakers across the country had praised Mimi’s work and love the tree stump gnome house!
Here’s what some commenters wrote on Youtube:
“that is absolutely adorable! i love it!”
To which Mimi responded, “thank you Kim. It’s been quite the conversation of the neighborhood. I still enjoy it every time I pull in the driveway.”
We’re sure anyone would be happy to see such an adorable decoration everytime we came home!
