Colby Swift told the judges that the first time he met Luke Bryan was when he called him a tall drink of water during his audition for American Idol.
Swift expressed how prayers got him there.
Colby has been through a lot of hardships since his mom left them on his sister’s birthday about nine years ago. He faced pain and rejection, but through all that, he says that his father has been supportive.
Colby’s dad, Justin expressed that it gets so emotional for him when he hears Colby singing because the guy has been through a lot in his life. I guess we all have to admit that when the 19-year-old shared his story, each one of us got so emotional.
His voice helped him make space in Hollywood and also since her first audition he has been sharing fantastic chemistry with Luke Bryan because they keep joking while talking to each other.
After the audition the judges agreed that Swift needed some work with his skills, but there was something about the guy that they wanted to see him again.
The season 17 of American Idol has begun, and we all will witness many stars in making and Colby is going to be one of them.
After his performance on the Hollywood stage, Swift seemed more polished and also completed his look with a cowboy hat and boots.
With the way Swift was carrying himself, no one can ever notice the holes in his, and that’s when it was clear that we see the future of a country singing.
Colby sang Before the Next Teardrop Falls by Freddy Fender’s using both English and Spanish, and he deserved a standing ovation.
His voice is so soothing that the audience couldn’t wait to cheer him up and that’s when Luke Bryan gave an unexpected gift to Swift.
After his performance, Swift became emotional and expressed that he never expected to get a standing ovation and having Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie stand for him was a blessing.
Just when he thought it was a blessing for him, another blessing came on his way when Luke took off his boots and gave them to Swift. The audience started cheering them up and clapped.
Bryan tweets that he is totally in awe with the current season and he is super touched with the stories about every, and he also wrote that ‘we love you #ColbySwift.
Though Swift was voted off during the group round, I guess we all have high hopes for him to be seen under the spotlight again.
