A lucky teenager who never before played the lottery has hit the jackpot and won $150,000 after buying his first-ever lottery ticket.

19-year-old Sam Lawton from the UK decided it would be fun to try out the National Lottery on August 12 because he never played it before.

Soon after the numbers were drawn, however, the teen was left stunned as he realized that his Set for Life combination included the winning numbers.

According to Sam, he purchased the ticket online for $1.80. In return, he will get $12,000 per month for the period of one year.

In addition, the 19-year-old plans on saving part of the prize for a deposit for his future home.

Sam allegedly decided to play the Set for Life game after seeing 24-year-old Dean Weymes walk away with the main prize just one month before him.

“It’s just incredible. Nothing like this happens to me, I’m chuffed to bits,” Sam said.

“I’d seen the ads for the Set for Life game and thought how great it would be to win the prize. I then saw the winner Dean Weymes on the TV celebrating his Set for Life win and thought I’d have a go.

“I downloaded the National Lottery app, set up an account, put £10 into my account and then played a Lucky Dip and I did all this whilst having a bath.

“It was only one hour, maybe 90 minutes after I first played when I saw a message on my phone and it said I had won the second prize, £10,000 per month for 12 months.”
