Jennifer Lopez and Shakira announced the big news that they have been confirmed as the halftime show for Super Bowl LIV at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
The news was officially confirmed by Pepsi, the NFL and entertainment company Roc Nation in a joint announcement, and the singers shared on their social media accounts too.
Shakira shared a photo of J-Lo, along with the caption: “Get ready 02.02.20.”
Lopez also tweeted a photo of Shakira writing: “This is happening. 02.02.20.”
“Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl,” Lopez said in a press release. “And now it’s made even more special not only because it’s the NFL’s 100th anniversary, but also because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can’t wait to show what us girls can do on the world’s biggest stage.”
Shakira whose birthday will fall on the day of the show added: “I’m so honored to be taking on one of the world’s biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist to represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.point 309 |

Later both shared the photo of them together with the caption: “Going to set the world on [fire emojis] @shakira #PepsiHalftime #SuperBowlLIV @pepsi.”
Speaking to Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest earlier this month, Lopez said: “It’s something that we’ve talked about for many years, and, you know, it would be nice. It would be nice. I can’t say I wouldn’t love it.”
