This Type Of Snake Plays Dead Before Attacking People


According to animal specialists in the United States, snakes have a smart tactic to out-smart their predators by playing dead.

Recently, a state park in North Carolina shared pictures of animals performing this defensive action to attack their predators.

The local residents were told not to handle or come near the Zombie snake which was playing dead before striking the people around.

The eastern hognose snake which are also known as the puff adders, can strike continuously if pissed. These types of snakes are mostly found in North America, and they play dead before anyone tries to approach or handle them.

The tactic of playing dead helps them in surviving in a dangerous environment and from the animals who feed on snakes.

There were some images released by the North Carolina State Parks and Recreations, which shows how this zombie snake played dead before striking back continuously.

The snake was trying to escape by playing dead, but when approached, it started striking back.

According to the animal experts, these snakes are not dangerous as they do not have strong poisonous venom in them, but still, they are good at striking back when in danger.

If you go near them or attack them, then they will broaden their necks and hiss loudly before biting. The snake only reacts when the attacker keeps bothering it.

These snakes have an upturned nose which helps them in finding toads, and then they use their sharp teeth to swallow the animal and digesting it.

Hognose snakes reproduce during the summer months, and at one go they will lay around 50 eggs in June and July. The offspring of such snakes start hatching after two months, and they look an adult in size at that time.
