We all love to have pets in our house. They are docile, they are disciplined, and they show their affection towards us. But you wouldn’t really associate all these qualities from a tiger.
But a Brazilian family has gone a step further and has been living with a bunch of pet tigers. It all started when Aryas Borges found out that tigers were being abused at a circus. He immediately rescued them and brought them home. He became quite fond of them and developed a deep bond with them.
To help his new friends, he started an exotic animal sanctuary in his home in Maringa in Brazil. Currently, this sanctuary has 7 tigers, 1 pet Chihuahua, and 2 lions.
All the animals hang out together in the same house. This is one of the rarest things you will ever see. Aryas along with his three daughters- Deusanira (24), Uyara (23), and Nayara (20) feel no threat living with these naturally wild animals. They consider their home to be safe and loving. Uyara’s two-year-old daughter has pictures of riding the tiger.
Aryas believes that animals should be shown love and respect to receive the same from them. Nayara has a habit of diving into the swimming pool with a tiger named Tom. They have been taking care of the Tigers since their birth. They have fed them with their own hands and have nearly killed their natural instincts.
It proves that wild animals can be made domestic. But we have heard cases of trained exotic animals going wild. One such case happened in the year 2003 when a performer was attacked by his white tiger.
The family has been facing several cases from animal rights activists for domesticating exotic animals. They want Arya’s caretaker’s license to be confiscated.
