A recent study at the yearly general Social Survey conducted by the University of Chicago has found that the sexual lives of young men has stepped down over the years.
And as per the experts, the primary reason behind this is the influence of technology over human life. These days, people are spending more time in the virtual world than the real world.
Young men are getting more indulged and addictive to online gaming, online streaming, and social media which is hugely affecting their daily life.
The University of Chicago along with the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) has been conducting this biennial survey since 1972 for monitoring the social changes in the society for surveying the rapid growth of complexity among people.
This time, the survey focused on the sexual life of human being along with other topics. In the report, it was stated that around 23 percent of the adult were deprived of a regular or complete sexual life for a year or more.
And the maximum number of the people who were surveyed were men aged between 20-30. The report further stated that there are people who haven’t got indulged in intercourse for around a couple of years. The affected portion of the population is reported to double up in a span of 10 years which is from 2008 to 2018.
The number of men who haven’t got sexually engaged rounds at 30 percent while the number of women who share the same issue are at just 10 percent.
As per the Psychology Professor of San Diego State University, the primary cause behind this is the nonexistence of a partner. He further stated that the maximum number of people who are affected don’t live with their partner or live in a home where it is hard to bring in a sexual partner.
The other important topics that were discussed in the 2018 survey at the annual survey seminal at the University of Chicago were quality of job life, mental health stigma, self-counseling, and much more.
