Since her childhood, Daisy-May Demetre never despaired about her disability, and never did she take it as an incentive to lag behind in the race of life.

The courageous girl, who looks at everything in a positive way, is full of life, never holds anything back, and knows how to live up even the smallest moments.

“The two rules I live by with my daughter are: never quit anything, and never be afraid to show who you are because if you do you’re not yourself,” her dad, Demetre, says.

Nature wasn’t as fortunate to her as it usually is with most of the people – both her legs were amputated when was just 18-months-old.

However, she incredibly dealt with this hard blow and overcame plenty of other obstacles to become a symbol of hope for every disabled person out there.

Daisy was born with a rare deformity, fibular hemimelia – a disorder in which fibula (calf bone) is absent or malformed. Unfortunately, her both legs were affected by the horrific disorder.

“It was heartbreaking. Her feet never formed properly, one came out like a ball and the other was very flappy,” her dad told MailOnline.

“They were unusable, so the best choice was to have the operation—double amputation. She could have a life with the legs she was born with, but it’s not a life, to be honest,” said Demetre.

“She wouldn’t be able to do what she’s able to do today,” he added.

The doctors decided to amputate both her legs, and she underwent an 8-hour-operation just as a tiny tot. However, her admirable zest for life and vibrant personality has been making her stand out even since she was a toddler.

The little girl now has 2 pairs of prosthetic legs, one is for basic needs while the other is a set of blade runners, just like the ones Olympic players wear.

Thanks to her prosthetic legs, Daisy can walk, run, ride a bike and do gymnastics just like the most of the other active kids.

After she developed an interest in modeling, her father met with Zebedee Management who signed her up. Shortly afterward, Daisy won a contract with Fashion giant River Island to model their active-wear range online.

The girl is so bright and has so radiant personality that one hardly notices her prosthetics upon a look at her.

“She’s inspirational, full of energy, nothing will stop her ever in life,” said Demetre. “She’s going to be the most famous double amputee on this planet—there’s no stopping her.”
