Charles Manson Worshiper, Leslie Van Houten, Had Been Approved For Parole!

The summer of 1969 was memorialized in Bryan Adam’s hit song Summer of ’69 and is known by most to be a summer of love.

However underneath all of the drug experimentation, the summer of 1969 has a much darker version. The infamous Charles Manson used the drug LSD (better known as acid) to help him brainwash a group of followers into worshiping him and committing murder for him.

The psychopath was able to brainwash his followers into killing innocents across the state of California. They all left Manson’s Spahn Ranch where he brainwashed them with the intent of murdering for their cult leader.

Manson had intentionally created a cult with the goal of killing people. It was a dark time for the entire country when more and more information about Manson and his followers finally came to light. Many were desperate for answers they sadly never found because we will never understand Manson’s sick, twisted mind.

Manson’s plan was to ignite a race war with the murders. Manson called it “Helter Skelter”.

Manson and his cult followers stained an otherwise happy and interesting time for America. Thankfully, many of the murderers who followed Manson are still in prison. However now Leslie Van Houten, the youngest member of Charles Manson’s murder cult who killed a married couple and wrote messages on the wall in their blood may be able to get parole.

Van Houten has served the past 50 years behind bars for her crimes and now for the very first time she may be able to be free outside the walls of a prison once again. Van Houten went through a five hour hearing where the panel decided that Van Houten should be recommended for parole. This is undoubtedly huge news for the 66-year-old convicted murderer.

Van Houten had previously applied for parole 19 times and was denied every time, but now it seems that the California Institution for Women in Corona have finally decided to give in and give her parole.

Van Houten says that she felt “numb” when she first heard the results of the panel’s decision to give her parole.

According to the Associated Press, Van Houten told the panel the following

I don’t let myself off the hook. I don’t find parts in any of this that makes me feel the slightest bit good about myself.

Unlike her former master, Manson, who is still serving in the prison system and considers himself to be a “prisoner of the political system” Van Houten has been an excellent inmate according to her lawyer. She has managed to avoid trouble and improve her life.

Van Houten’s attorney cites the 18 psychiatrists that have evaluated her over the past 30 years and declared her fit for parole that this is well deserved.

The opposition to parole has always been the name Manson. A lot of people who oppose parole don’t know anything about Leslie’s conduct. Her role was bad. Everyone’s was. But they don’t know what she’s done since then and all of the good she’s done.
